There are a number of excellent ski slopes near Toronto. Here are three of the best:

Blue Mountain Resort is about 2 hours from Toronto. With 365 acres of skiing terrain, the resort has trails that cater to all types of skiers, from amateurs to experts. An impressive 30 of its 43 skiing trails are lit so you can ski at night.

Horseshoe Resort is a ski and golf resort located 45 minutes from Toronto, which makes it perfect for a day skiing trip. Horseshoe Resort has 29 alpine ski runs as well as cross country skiing trails, snowshoeing trails and 'fat' biking trails.

Snow Valley is one of the smaller ski locations close to Toronto. Approximately 90 minutes from Toronto, Snow Valley can be slightly less busy than Horseshoe Valley or the larger Blue Mountain. The resort has 19 runs, but does not offer on-site accommodations. However, you can usually find accommodations in Barrie, which is close by.
